Warmup assignment

At the start of each module, you’ll prepare quick-to-implement creative exercise that is heavily constrained. This will help introduce you to some of the key ideas for the module and to prepare for the final creative project.

Each ‘warmup’ will have a brief which will explain whatyou’re expected to make and how to make it. All warmups will be individual assignments.

A warmup should take around 2-3 hours to prepare.

Process

  1. Introduction: You’ll be introduced to the warmup at the beginning of the module and have 1-2 classes to prepare it.

  2. Submission: You’ll submit the work online to the IDeATe Gallery the day before class.

  3. Digital Review: You’ll receive feedback from the instructors and TAs on your warmup exercise. This will cover things you should pay attention to for your main creative exercise, areas for improvement and suggestions for further research and development

Note: Warmups won’t be reviewed in class and you don’t need to review your peers work. You’re welcome to give feedback though!

Submitting your work

In all cases, you’ll use the IDeATe Gallery to document and submit your work.

The brief will describe what you should include in your documentation (specific sections). The Gallery will also give you a template for these sections.

All work should be submitted by 9pm the night before class.
